Park Overview | Goal | Objective
City Park is a 1.9 acre neighborhood park, of mowed turf with scattered tree cover, with a wooden playground structure.  This "central park" is located on Main Street and hosts the annual Chatfield Western Days celebration, the weekly Growers Markets, and the summer Music in the Park Series.
Park Goal
To maintain and enhance the existing civic and historic character of the park while keeping the physical elements of the park as open for multiple uses as possible.

Park Objectives
  • Maintain and enhance the park area as a recreational and cultural space for city-wide events.
  • Strengthen the visual and physical connection to the Chosen Valley Regional Park (MIll Creek and Groen Park).

Pedestrian Accessibility
Perimeter sidewalks, a diagonal sidewalk transecting the park, the Lost Creek Trail Map Kiosk, and connected to the Major Pedestrian Route along Third Street.

History
The park was built in 1854. Designed by Thomas Twiford. The first year of outdoor concerts was the summer of 1885.
